SINCLAIR, Terence     [TSS]

Terence Sinclair was born on 23rd January 1964 in London. He was raised in East London by his deaf parents along with his younger brother. He spent much of his early life drawing and thinking about his life in a cosmopolitan city which had an incredibly diverse population. Terence studied Fine Art formally from the age of 16 and specialised in Graphic Design by the time he was 18, he left formal education when he was 21 to begin a career working in London’s Design Consultancies and Advertising Agencies in the 1980s and 90s – a period regarded as a ‘golden era’ of advertising and design in London – he worked for many different large creative businesses including Saatchi & Saatchi. During his career in advertising he became skilled in design, visualising, illustration, photography, art direction and writing copy for print advertising and radio commercials. By the year 2000 he was a well-established independent freelance creative working for large brands. Between 2003 and 2009 he ran his own boutique advertising agency. Terence rebooted his life in 2009 and relocated to Warwickshire to focus entirely on his unique art. The influence of Terence’s eventful life and his commercial design and advertising career is all reflected in his art.
