Alan is an artist who creates artwork drawn from his own sensory and emotional response through the environment in which he occupies. Alan has a highly recognisable and unique style, combining many sources of inspiration with an application that is both energetic and exciting. Alans work is visually stunning! His use of bold lines and bright colours on contrasting backgrounds and demand the viewers’ attention.
Alan was born in Coventry, where he grew up and spent over 40 years of his life. He then moved to Leamington spa October 2020. Leamington Spa as become the home that Alan as always wanted. He very much as woven himself into the fabric of town the historical and diverse town.
He is educated to degree level in Fine Art, and is inspired by past masters including Picasso, Klee and Haring. His knowledge and love of art is easily seen within his style and image making. He also draws inspiration from street art, children’s drawings and outsider art. Alan is also an admirer of Doodle drawing and the Surrealists automatic drawing style, where one uses the direct stimuli to express and convey rapidly emotions and ideas through quick drawing.
Alan as been part of several local exhibitions, he’s been an Artist in residence and contributed to the Royal Leamington History Society, by creating the Artwork for their most recent Book in 2021, the Global History of Royal Leamington. His exhibitions are increasingly becoming more frequent and in a wider demographic area. Alan also created Hope Art Projects in 2021, which helps creatives develop and show work.
